SKWITZAN — COUNSELLING CONFIDENTIALITY STATEMENT
Skwitzan-Confidentiality Statement
Created: 21 October 2025
Confidentiality is an essential part of the counselling and wellbeing relationship.
This statement explains how any information you share is protected and the limited circumstances in which it might be shared.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed in counselling sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone else without your permission.
The only exceptions are:
- if there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person,
• if disclosure is required by law or court order, or
• if you give explicit consent for information to be shared (for example, with your GP or another trusted person involved in your care).
Wherever possible, any need for disclosure will be discussed with you first.
Record keeping
Minimal notes may be kept to support the counselling process.
These notes are factual, not detailed transcripts, and are stored separately from website data in secure, password-protected and encrypted files.
Notes are kept only for as long as necessary for good record-keeping and legal purposes, after which they are deleted or securely destroyed.
Data protection
All information is processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your information at any time by emailing skwitzan@gmail.com.

Sarah [Surname] works independently and is not affiliated with any external counselling body or governing organisation.
Her practice is guided by faith and prayer, with decisions made in good conscience and with compassion, care, and respect for your privacy and wellbeing.
